Known for his intricate and unique style of playing, Sam has put his own spin on percussion.
Starting off as a self-taught bongo player, he now accompanies a number of artists and bands throughout East Anglia and London playing in a range of genres on a selection of drums, and has recorded on over 200 songs across more than 20 albums. Due to his unique 'finger-tapping' style, he's able to dance across the skins, creating "subtle, tactile and almost lyrical" beats. Which is then paired with immense bottom end, resulting in a whirlwind of percussive notes that will astound any audience. “Sam's the perfect percussionist. His deft touch gives an added dimension to any track he graces.” – Stephen Foster, BBC Radio Suffolk Along with his somewhat unusual playing style, Sam is also known for his ability to improvise and play songs on the go, without the need to rehearse beforehand - this is showcased on his YouTube channel where most of the videos are unrehearsed, and he has usually only heard the song once before hitting record. |
"What this guy can do with some wood and animal skin is amazing! With ten mini drumsticks attached to his wrists, he provides intricate beats and touches throughout, dovetailing with the melodies perfectly!"
